100 Ghost Stories Counting Down To Halloween 2021 #35

35

If not for the incident that would bind us to the location where everything happened, I wouldn't have bothered giving these two people the time of day.

They were assaulted by an asshole who got upset because they didn't have any money to give him, so he grabbed them and tried to rifle through their pockets. I had a long day dealing with stupid relatives and a greedy ex-wife. By the time I got to the bus stop on Wilder, I was in no mood for any foolishness. Once this errant asshole began his shakedown of the two innocent people minding their own business, I stood up and kicked him in the nuts from behind. He assumed a squared stance which made it easy to lift his balls right up into his sweet spot. He dropped like a ton of bricks. I didn't even have a chance to tell him to pick on people his own size when suddenly, the two victims now became the attackers. They both jumped up and down on his head, his torso, his legs, his arms. It was gruesome. They wouldn't let him up, they finished him off by biting off his groin, but by then, his was already dead. I was speechless and had no response to them after they thanked me. They haven't left me since. Little did I know that the two were low-level spirits occupying the bodies of two state workers from the health department. For years, the downtown population has been entirely unaware of a population of low-level souls who are constantly latching on to anyone with low self-esteem, self-confidence, depression, and anger. I thought that they may very well have been persons who have passed and have not been able to pass to the light, so they are constantly looking for ways to get there. Sometimes, if they have to hitch a ride on a state worker with a particular mindset or energy, then so be it.

"Go kick somebody," the one says.

"Or hurt someone," the other chimes in. "So we can beat them until they die."

So, now I'm stuck because I defended two people who were possessed and still are.
