The gulch goes through the botanical gardens and then continues to lake Wilson where many a corpse of a young able-bodied Schofield soldier has been found.

The medical examiner finds it strange that there is no foul play, and the body is fully clothed with car keys, wallet, and cell phone in the pockets. The shoes are still on, the watch is on the wrist, and the chains are around the neck. One might speculate that the man went willingly into the lake or went with someone he followed. Or perhaps, he was beckoned to follow. No one knows for sure. This is unique because the bodies found in the lake are of no specific type, not ethnically or physically. Just in age, from 18 to 30. Locals talk about a green lady who frequents the waterways in the Wahiawā area. Some say that she was a woman who lost a child to drowning in lake Wilson and that she drowned while in search of her little one. That the body may have been found covered in green moss may account for her name, the green lady. Still, others say she is a moʻo wahine who once in a while has to take a young able-bodied man as a meal or a lover. In either case, as professor Alohalani Brown says,' he ends up dead.'

Whatever the case may be, and whoever this female is, one thing is for sure. If you meet a beguiling Hawaiian woman of an unsurpassing beauty, and she suggests a drive out to lake Wilson for a cool evening swim. Run for your life.
